This cuvée is crafted from a massal selection of Syrah from the locality known as Les Boussicaux. It comes from a singular terroir on the northern slope of Perréal Hill, where layers of Upper Eocene clay meet La Fayette limestone. This wine recalls the balance of the more northern Rhône Valley: sapid, airy, profound, and with a superb silky texture. It is a long-ageing wine, with a minimum cellaring potential of 10 years. It pairs beautifully with slow-cooked or spiced meats, lamb, and game.

“The bouquet of Les Boussicaux shows great finesse, with an elegant interplay of refined oak, hints of liquorice, and notes of dark fruit. The wine has character and firm tannins that provide a solid backbone. The finish needs time to gain aromatic expression. Patience is required; the substance is there and will support its gustatory character.”
Score: 90/100

“It needs aeration. Campfire cooking aromas. Burnt chocolate. The tannins are refined and bitter, the fruit is dark and cooked, cloaked in blackened spices – like the edges of a Christmas cake.”
